Looking for something traditional/rustic, but also offering bold colour and striking design?
A customer came to Worcester Tile wanting to find tiles for a new traditional style kitchen, and in particular something suitable to create a colourful, attractive feature of the wall behind the new range cooker.
The Chateaux collection of tiles was suggested - a traditional but vibrant selection inspired by an eclectic range of artifacts and places: ceramics and tiles from ancient Persia and Morocco, kelim rugs from Turkey, tapestries from French castles and pottery from Andalusia.
Every tile is slightly different as a result of the unusual production method; intriguing random textured effects result from the deliberate use of glazes that ‘react’ on the surface.
The combination of a rustic tile base and the reactive glazes produces glossy tiles that have noticeably textured surfaces.
Chateaux tiles are available in a variety of beautifully rich colours and patterns which can be weaved together to make an eye-catching textured feature – a dazzlingly simple way to add character and style to a wall.
A selection of patterns in shades of blue were selected for the kitchen wall, as you can see on this page.
